1799 Draped Bust Dollar ($1)

The 1799 Draped Bust dollar represents one of the final years of 18th century silver dollar production. With a mintage of just 423,515 pieces, it's considerably scarcer than the 1798 issue. The vast majority were exported to China and melted, making surviving examples particularly desirable.

This VF25 example has aged gracefully, developing an even, medium-gray patina. The surfaces are smooth and problem-free, with honest wear consistent with the grade. The strike is bold, with clear star details and sharp eagle's feathers on the reverse. The eye appeal is excellent for the grade, making this an ideal candidate for a circulated type set.
