Ok, ok fine you're probably also wondering "Why Rarity7?" Two reasons: First, it's kind of a weird and techy name and our founder Noah is kind of a weird and techy guy. Second - it represents a rare (but not unique) coin on the Sheldon Rarity Scale, which we think fits quite well.

Noah Lehmann-Haupt
Founder & Head Nerd
A lifelong coin & tech nerd who began collecting in force in the early 1990s (which is to say, he became obsessed with coins, driving both his parents crazy because he didn't want to talk about anything else, ever.) He took a short 30-year break and is now back in the coin world - both as a collector and a dealer - and thrilled to be a part of it all again.
Noah is a full member of the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) and life member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA).
Owen Seymour
Co-Founder & Lead Numismatist
Owen is one of the top numismatists and graders in the world. He was a professional grader at PCGS and was one of the youngest people ever to work full-time in the grading room. He is one of the foremost experts on authentication of both US federal and territorial issues. While at PCGS, his research on counterfeit diagnostics of territorial gold became the most comprehensive resource on the subject in the entire industry.
Each summer he teaches a grading class at the ANA Summer Seminar (you should take it!). Owen also claims to be the world’s best Call of Duty 4 player, though this remains unverified.
Owen received his Honorary Doctorate of Numismatics from and is a member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA).
Ashley Wilson
Numismatist & Head of Operations
Ashley has been running the show (literally) at R7 for the past 2 years. She's gone from "Coins are fun but I don't know anything about them" to "That looks PR66 CAM, not quite DCAM" in very short order. She's a total badass and we're lucky to have her.
Ashley previously worked at Google, Lyft, and other tech titans and her family owns and runs a Buffalo farm! She is a member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA).
Sara Seymour
Numismatist & Show Operations
Sara is a lifelong collector and numismatist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Public History, which fuels her passion for preserving and studying historical artifacts — especially rare coins. Sara brings both expertise and enthusiasm to the numismatic field. When she’s not working with coins, you can usually find her trying out new recipes (some more successful than others).
Sara is a member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA).
Paul Lathrop
Numismatist & Buyer
Paul is a lifelong collector and numismatist who has been in the hobby for over 20 years. He and Noah became frineds through Coinstagram when Paul correctly guessed the grade on Noah's 1855-S Seated Half (VF30!). He then handed Noah a stack of his own inventory to help stock the case of the first R7 (then Numismattack Trading) coin show. It was all downhill from there.
Paul received his PhD in Aerospace Engineering at the University of California San Diego and currently works as an engineer at Nuro, a self-driving car startup. But he can’t stay away from the coin world, so when vacation time comes around he joins R7 wherever he can.
Paul is a member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA).
