1881-CC Morgan Dollar ($1) OGH
PCGS
MS65
CAC
This CAC-approved MS65 gem displays outstanding eye appeal with brilliant cartwheel luster radiating across both surfaces. The strike is sharp throughout, and the fields show minimal contact marks for the grade. Clean, frosty surfaces exhibit that classic Morgan dollar brilliance that makes these coins so captivating.
The 1881-CC represents one of the more available Carson City Morgans, with a mintage of 296,000 pieces. While not as rare as some other CC dates, it remains a key coin for any serious Morgan dollar collection. The Carson City facility operated for only sporadic years, making all CC Morgans highly sought after. Most 1881-CC dollars remained in government storage until the great treasury releases of the 1960s, which is why higher grade examples like this one survived.
