1934 Washington Quarter (25c) Light Motto

The 1934 Washington Quarter is notable for featuring the "Light Motto" variety, where the word "IN GOD WE TRUST" appears less boldly struck than on other examples from this year. This variety occurred due to die polishing at the mint, which partially effaced the motto's depth in the die.

This MS64 CAC example displays impressive cartwheel luster and clean surfaces throughout. The strike is bold everywhere except, naturally, on the motto. The fields show minimal marks for the grade, and the overall eye appeal is outstanding, with bright, original surfaces that radiate when tilted under light. A textbook example of this interesting variety.
