1934A $500 Federal Reserve Note

PMG 30

This 1934A $500 Federal Reserve Note, Fr. 2202-G, from the Chicago district represents the pinnacle of readily available high-denomination currency. The $500 FRNs were primarily used for large bank-to-bank transfers, making them relatively scarce in any grade. The 1934A series is particularly notable as one of the last high-denomination notes issued before the discontinuation of $500 and larger bills in 1969.

Graded Very Fine 30 by PMG, this note shows honest circulation while maintaining strong eye appeal. The paper remains crisp with good body, displaying the expected light folds and creases consistent with the grade. The green overprint and district seal retain their vibrancy, and the black portions of the design remain clear and well-defined. The margins are nicely centered, and the note is free of any significant distractions. Staple Holes are noted on the holder, but you'll be hard pressed to figure out where they are!
