1788 Vermont Half Penny (1/2p) Bust Right
PCGS XF40 BN CAC
Warm chestnut to olive-brown patina with faint ruddy highlights, all delightfully original and unmessed-with. Detail is evenly worn yet bold for the issue, with crisp legends and a pleasing, smooth step to the high points. The surfaces show natural micro-granularity typical of the type and good, hard skin throughout. A few small spots of ancient discoloration - including a modest patch on the reverse - limit the grade, but the rims are largely sound and the coin sits right in the pocket for XF. Housed in a PCGS holder and blessed with a green CAC sticker, this example has steady, honest eye appeal we can all get behind.
