1793 Liberty Cap Half Cent (1/2c)

PCGS F12 BN

Lovely, wholesome early copper with smooth, hard surfaces and an even medium chocolate-brown patina warmed by mahogany highlights. Detail is bold for a solid Fine - LIBERTY, the date, and the reverse legends read cleanly with pleasing definition through the wreath. Rims are mostly complete and the fields retain an original, undisturbed look that gives this example strong eye appeal. A few old, thin field marks are present, consistent with honest circulation, but they do not distract and the planchet is otherwise delightful for the type. Housed in a PCGS gold shield holder, this specimen has the look we all hunt for in 1793 coinage.
