1797 Draped Bust Large Cent (1c) Reverse of 1797, Stems

A right-on VF with classic chocolate-brown color blended with olive and subtle russet at the rims, giving the coin pleasing, even eye appeal. Surfaces are wonderfully original and mostly smooth for the grade, with faint residual gloss in protected recesses and fully intact rims. Detail in the hair and wreath is exactly what we want to see at this level, and the strike is nicely centered. One old, shallow planchet flaw in the left obverse field is the only noteworthy distraction. Housed in an older NGC holder, this example has the look we all hunt for in early copper.
