The 1805 Draped Bust quarter represents the early years of American coinage, struck during Jefferson's presidency when the young nation was still finding its footing. With a mintage of 121,394, the 1805 isn't the scarcest date in the short-lived series, but finding any Draped Bust quarter in collectable condition remains a challenge. These coins saw heavy circulation and most survivors show significant wear from decades of commerce in the early 1800s.
This PCGS G06 example with CAC approval showcases exactly what you want in a heavily circulated early quarter - honest wear with no problems. The surfaces display even, chocolate-brown toning with smooth fields free from major marks or damage. Liberty's profile remains clearly defined despite the extensive wear, and the date is bold and easily readable. The reverse eagle retains its basic form with the shield still visible. For a coin that's over 200 years old and clearly saw extensive use, the eye appeal is quite respectable. A solid, problem-free example of this early American classic.
