1806 Draped Bust Quarter (25c) B-9
NGC VF35
1806 Draped Bust quarters quickly disappeared from circulation during the great silver melt of the early 1800s when silver value exceeded face value. So finding ANY example, let alone a lovely original example such as this, is an accomplishment.
This VF35 coin from the renowned Jules Reiver Collection boasts a medium gray patina that has developed naturally over its more than two centuries of existence. Despite moderate circulation, the coin retains impressive detail in Liberty's hair curls and the eagle's wing feathers. The surfaces show wear consistent with the grade but remain remarkably problem-free for an early quarter. The eye appeal is exceptional for the grade, with no distracting marks or issues that would detract from its originality.
