Warm walnut-brown with lighter tan highlights and a pleasing, even skin, this Cohen 1, late die state (4-star cud) half cent offers textbook VF detail and notably smooth, original surfaces. The fields retain a soft gloss, rims and legends are bold, and the coin’s balanced wear gives it excellent eye appeal for the grade. For specialists who care, this variety is much tougher than others, as most on the market are earlier die states (sans cud).
