1827 Coronet Large Cent (1c)
PCGS AU58 CAC
Lustrous surfaces with tons of red give this 1827 a look well above what the AU58 grade implies. Light golden-brown fields carry rose and salmon undertones that brighten around the wreath and legends on the reverse, while the obverse settles into a slightly deeper honey-brown with plenty of remaining luster. The strike is sharp - full hair detail at the curls, and crisp leaf sharpness throughout the wreath. Only a hint of high-point friction on the cheek and hair separates this example from mint state, and the surfaces are undisturbed and wholesome. Housed in a PCGS holder and CAC approved, this Coronet cent offers excellent eye appeal for the type.
