1827 Coronet Large Cent (1c) Rattler
PCGS MS63 BN
Beautifully original chocolate and mahogany surfaces with a soft, glossy cartwheel that rolls across both sides; subtle brick-red peeks from the protected recesses and a whisper of steel at the rims. The strike is bold and even, with smooth, undisturbed fields that show only a couple faint ticks in the left obverse field that likely held it to 63. Color is wonderfully uniform with no spots or stains, and the eye appeal is classic early copper - calm, even, and extremely pleasing. Housed in a classic PCGS Rattler for those of us who appreciate vintage plastic.
