This near-gem 1830 bust half shows a pleasing not-too-dark patina - warm rose-gold and russet blanket the obverse, while the reverse shows softer silver-gray centers framed by russet at the periphery. Underneath, satiny luster glows through the toning on both sides. The strike is sharp, with full hair definition, and crisp feather and shield detail on the eagle. Surfaces are remarkably smooth, with nothing beyond the most trivial ticks holding it at the 64 level. A thoroughly wholesome, high-end example in a PCGS Gold Shield holder.
