1838 Pattern Half Dollar (50c) J-73 Restrike

Sleek and original, this proof pattern shows bold mirrors under an even antique-silver skin with faint golden accents at the rims. The devices are nicely frosted for a pleasing cameo look, and the strike is razor sharp throughout. Some scattered lines in the fields cap the grade at PR63, but the overall eye appeal is strong and fully “old time” in hand. Attributed as J-73 on the insert and housed in a PCGS gold shield holder.
