1838 Seated Liberty Quarter (25c) No Drapery

The first year of production for the Seated Liberty series saw several design modifications — this variety (which NGC recognizes as Open Claws and PCGS recognizes as No Drapery) coming from the cornerstone period makes it particularly interesting.

This coin, graded AU58 by NGC, is a dazzling example of one that narrowly missed mint state. The vibrant luster shines through attractive toning that features a blend of subtle hues of blues, reds, and magenta, giving the coin exceptional eye appeal. The details are sharp, and the obverse and reverse both retain remarkable integrity with only the slightest touch of wear. A scarcer variety in exceptional condition, ready for a high-quality collection.
