1842 Seated Liberty Dollar ($1)

Choice, original color with even dove gray and deeper recess toning gives this coin a pleasing circulated cameo look. Detail is strong for the level - full rims and stars, LIBERTY mostly bold - with smooth, hard surfaces that show only scattered light contact and no distractions. The reverse is particularly crisp for VF, with sharp lettering and a balanced, natural patina. Housed in the current PCGS shield holder and blessed with a green CAC sticker, this example delivers notably above average eye appeal for a circulated Seated dollar. We wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the label on this coin instead said XF40 or better.
