Honest, original mid-grade crust defines this 1848 quarter - warm slate gray fields deepening to charcoal in the recesses, with lighter high points that give the design nice natural contrast. The wear is smooth and even on both sides, leaving a bold shield with LIBERTY fully legible, strong drapery folds, and crisp feather detail on the eagle. Surfaces are wholesome and undisturbed for the grade, with nothing to interrupt the pleasing antique look. A tougher date in problem-free VF, housed in a PCGS holder with a green CAC sticker.
