1853 Gold Dollar ($1)

Glowing medium-gold color with satiny, unmolested luster that pops in-hand, this MS64 shows a fresh, original look that earned its green CAC. The obverse fields are clean for the grade, with a couple trivial ticks at 2 o’clock; reverse shows faint scuffing around and below LAR and a touch of granularity left of the denomination. Strike is better than typical with sharp stars and a crisp wreath, and the rims are problem-free. A high-end, CAC-approved NGC example with confident eye appeal.
