1854-S Gold Dollar (G$1)
PCGS AU53
Rarity7 was born in San Francisco, so the 1854-S series of coins is near and dear to our hearts: the first US coins to make their way out of the newly-official SF Mint. And since we don't quite feel like stocking a $2.5m 1854-S $5, this lovely $1 will have to do.
Warm honey-gold skin leads the eye, giving this AU gold dollar a natural, lightly satiny AU look. Liberty’s hair, the stars, wreath, date, and mintmark remain well defined, with even high-point friction and traces of luster tucked around the devices. The color is wholesome and the overall eye appeal is strong. Housed in a modern PCGS Gold Shield holder.
