1857 Braided Hair Half Cent (1/2c)
PCGS MS64 BN CAC
Iridescent rose and copper-red glow through the medium chocolate-brown surfaces of this 1857 half cent. The strike is sharp - full hair detail, bold stars, and crisply defined leaves in the wreath. Fields are smooth and glossy with lively luster underneath the mellow patina, and only a faint mark or two on the obverse keep it from the next grade up. Well-preserved, thoroughly original skin with a great deal of underlying color for a BN, giving this final-year issue outstanding eye appeal. Housed in a PCGS holder with a green CAC sticker.
