Blazing orange-gold surfaces with rich satiny luster and copper accents deliver notably strong eye appeal for the issue that lived underwater soon after its striking at the San Francisco Mint via the S.S. Central America shipwreck. The strike is sharp throughout, and the surfaces are original and unmolested, with only some scattered contact in the fields limiting the grade. Housed in the PCGS SSCA gold-foil holder, fully attributed as 20A Spiked Shield with SSCA #1606 on the tag - a flashy, shipwreck-proven example.
