1859-O Seated Liberty Dollar ($1)
NGC VG
Kind of a weird one here -- NGC as part of their bulk-grading programs in the past would only give broad letter grades vs. a specific numeric grade. This is one of those examples -- not a problem coin at all, just no specific numeric grade.
And the coin is indeed delightful. Honest wear from circulation with a pleasing medium gray patina that has developed naturally over more than 160 years. The obverse stars are still visible, and on the reverse, the eagle's wing feathers show reasonable detail. The original mint luster is long gone, but the surfaces are remarkably problem-free for a coin that saw extensive commercial use, with no distracting marks or damage. The distinctive "O" mintmark below the eagle remains bold and easily identifiable.
