1862 Indian Cent (1c)

A wholesome, honest copper-nickel cent - an even light tan with pale golden overtones. Original luster still shows on both sides, and the strike is sharp for the issue with full LIBERTY on the headband, well-defined feather tips, and bold shield lines and oak leaves on the reverse. Only the faintest touch of friction on the cheek separates this coin from mint state, and the fields are clean with nothing distracting.
