1876-S Trade Dollar (T$1) Type-I/I Chopmarked
PCGS MS61
A lively low Mint State chopmarked survivor with bright, frosty cartwheel luster and a pleasing silver gray to faint champagne skin. Multiple bold merchant punches define the look - a gridded mark at right obverse, additional chops in the left field and on Liberty’s gown, and dramatic clusters across the reverse including above the eagle’s right wing and near the olive branch. Surfaces show the expected scattered ticks and light hairlines that cap the grade, yet the strike is confident and the fields flash well under light. Housed in a modern PCGS shield holder with the Type I/I attribution, this example offers compelling eye appeal for the chopmarked niche.
