1879-S Morgan Dollar ($1) Rainbow Toner

With wild obverse rainbow color, its no wonder NGC awarded this one a star - the obverse erupts in bands of magenta, tangerine, emerald, and electric violet, fading to sunset gold and pale silver toward upper left obverse field. The reverse is mostly brilliant with a frosty cartwheel. A few light ticks in the obverse fields account for the grade, but the color puts the eye appeal several notches above the numeric grade. A dramatic toner in an NGC holder with the coveted star designation.
