1884-S Morgan Dollar ($1)

Bright satiny silver with a pleasing veil of champagne and honey-gold at the rims, this AU example retains lively cartwheel luster through both sides. Wear is even, with light friction on the cheek and high points and strong detail remaining throughout. The surfaces look original and unbothered, with the reverse especially attractive thanks to warmer peripheral color and clean fields; a bit of scattered contact on the cheek sets the ceiling. A wholesome, fresh-looking 84-S with solid eye appeal in its NGC holder. We wouldn't be surprised to see this in a 58 holder but are happy to sell a strongly-graded 55 as-is.
