1889-CC Morgan Dollar ($1)

PCGS XF40

The 1889-CC represents one of the more available Carson City Morgan dollars, but that's a relative term when discussing CC mintages. With 350,000 pieces struck, it's far scarcer than its Philadelphia counterpart's massive 21.7 million coin production. Carson City dollars remain among the most coveted in the entire Morgan series, as the frontier mint's romantic Old West heritage continues to captivate collectors decades after its closure.

This PCGS XF40 example displays excellent eye appeal with smooth, natural gray-brown toning across both surfaces. The wear is even and appropriate for the grade, with Liberty's cheek and hair details showing the expected softness while retaining plenty of character. The fields remain relatively clean with minimal distracting marks, and the overall surfaces have that pleasing original look that speaks to proper preservation over the decades. A solid, problem-free example of this popular Carson City issue.
