Gemmy and glowing in an old green PCGS holder with a well-earned green CAC sticker, this 1889 gold dollar shows bold, satiny cartwheel luster and rich yellow-gold color with subtle orange highlights. The strike is unusually crisp for the type, with excellent central definition, and the fields are clean for the grade, showing only a few trivial ticks under a glass. Terrific eye appeal and wonderfully original surfaces make this example stand out in the case.
