Frosty and bright with lively cartwheel, this 1889-S shows a classic slider look. The obverse cheek is refreshingly clean for the issue, while the reverse fields are smooth and clean for a circulated piece. Light friction on Liberty’s cheek and the eagle’s breast sets the level, but the eye appeal punches above it. Housed in a fresh NGC holder, this example has that just-missed Mint State vibe.
