1890-O Morgan Dollar ($1)
NGC
MS63
CAC
The New Orleans Mint struck over 10 million Morgan dollars in 1890, making this a relatively common date in the series. However, the "Big Easy" had a reputation for inconsistent striking and rough handling of finished coins, which means finding choice examples with strong eye appeal can still present a challenge.
This CAC-approved MS63 exhibits far better surfaces than typically seen from New Orleans. The coin displays vibrant cartwheel luster that rotates beautifully under light, with clean fields that show only minor contact marks appropriate for the grade. The strike is sharp throughout, with excellent detail in Liberty's hair and the eagle's feathers. Original silver-white surfaces maintain their mint bloom, creating impressive eye appeal that easily justifies the CAC endorsement.
