1892 Barber Quarter (25c)
PCGS MS66
The 1892 Barber quarter represents the first year of Charles E. Barber's classic design, which would grace America's coinage for the next 25 years. As with most first-year issues, these quarters were saved in higher numbers by contemporary collectors, making gem examples more available today than many later dates in the series.
That being said - very few of those saved look like his stunning MS66 example. It's got blazing cartwheel luster that radiates across the surfaces. The strike is remarkably sharp, with full detail present in Liberty's hair and the eagle's feathers. The surfaces are nearly pristine, showing minimal marks that are well below what's typically expected for the grade. The eye appeal is extraordinary, making this an ideal candidate for a high-grade type set.
