1895 Liberty Gold Half Eagle ($5)

Glowing orange-gold surfaces with subtle rose highlights and lively cartwheel give this MS example standout eye appeal, and CAC clearly agreed. The luster is strong for the grade with pleasing frost across the devices, the color is undeniably original, and the look is totally unmessed-with. Housed in an early NGC no-line fatty holder with a gold CAC sticker, this coin has the look we all hunt for - scattered contact in the fields is what sets the ceiling here, but that ceiling is much better than MS61. Overall presentation is excellent.
