Bright, frosty cartwheel luster races across both sides, lightly toned with silvery champagne highlights that give this coin a crisp, fresh look. The strike is better than we usually see for the issue, with strong wreath and feather detail, and just the lightest friction on the cheek and eagle’s breast keeping it out of a mint state slab. Fields are lively and relatively clean for the level, with only a few scattered ticks that do not intrude on the eye. Superb eye appeal for the grade band, in a PCGS gold shield holder and approved by a green CAC sticker that affirms the plus level quality.
