1907 High Relief Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle ($20) Wire Edge

Deep, rich orange-gold color with an original, satiny skin gives this High Relief a wonderfully fresh look. The incredible relief is fully struck up - Liberty shows superb detail, and the eagle's breast and wing feathers show crisp definition. Surfaces are pleasing for a 62, with far fewer abrasions than most examples of the grade. Housed in an older NGC holder with a green CAC sticker, a delightful example of what is often considered the greatest United States coin design.
