1922 Grant with Star Gold Dollar (G$1) OGH
PCGS MS64
Now THIS coin rocks -- tiny but powerful. A beautiful, rich, golden color with hints of electric blue and violet in the highlights, this Grant with Star commemorative is housed in a vintage OGH holder and just hits right in all the right places.
The Grant with Star gold dollar was minted to honor Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th President of the United States and a prominent Union general during the American Civil War. The coin was part of a series of commemorative coins issued in 1922 to mark the centennial of Grant's birth, which occurred on April 27, 1822.
The "with Star" variety had a limited mintage of only 5,016 coins, making it significantly rarer than the regular Grant commemorative gold dollar.
