1925 Norse American Commemorative Medal (Thin)

PCGS AU58+ CAC

The 1925 Norse American medal commemorates the 100th anniversary of Norwegian immigration to the United States, paying homage to the pioneering spirit that brought settlers from Norway in 1825. This distinctively designed octagonal medal, struck in both thick and thin versions, was authorized by the U.S. Congress and is cherished for its unique shape and rich cultural symbolism. The thin version typically has a lower survival rate in higher grades.

This beautiful example is graded AU58+ by PCGS and awarded a CAC sticker -- both the only coin to be graded AU58+ AND the only coin in that grade to get a CAC sticker (which kinda obviously follows). As you might know, AU58+ is *the* grade for the "Everyman" collector -- it's a super choice coin (which might be perhaps MS65+ otherwise).

This example's surfaces show a delightful mix of natural toning and underlying luster, capturing the eye with its complex, aged charm. The details — particularly the Viking warrior and the longship — are impressively preserved with just a whisper of wear, making the motifs stand out vividly. This AU58+ piece is a stellar representation of the Norse American medal.
