1931-S Buffalo Nickel (5c)

Smooth, satiny luster rolls across pleasing silvery-champagne surfaces, giving this example strong, even eye appeal for the date. The strike is admirably sharp for an S - bold on the portrait and with above average definition on the bison’s head and foreleg, with only the usual softness through the hip. Clean fields and frosty devices show just a few trivial ticks under magnification, nothing that disturbs the look. Housed in a modern PCGS Gold Shield holder, this specimen reads every bit high-end for the grade and glows in hand.
