1937-D 3 Legs Buffalo Nickel (5c)
PCGS
VF20
CAC
The 1937-D 3-Legged Buffalo Nickel is one of the most famous and sought-after varieties in all of American numismatics. Created when a Denver Mint employee over-polished a die to remove clash marks, the process inadvertently erased most of the buffalo's front right leg. This dramatic variety was discovered by collectors shortly after release, but even in circulated grades it remains highly collectible.
This CAC-approved VF20 example has superb eye appeal for the grade, with smooth, problem-free surfaces and natural gray-brown patina. The surfaces are remarkably clean with no distracting marks or scratches, and the coin retains strong peripheral lettering on both sides. A solid, affordable example of this legendary variety.
