1937 Texas Commemorative Half Dollar (50c)
PCGS
MS67
CAC
The 1937 Texas Centennial half dollar commemorates the 100th anniversary of Texas independence from Mexico in 1836. While the centennial was technically in 1936, production continued into 1937 to meet demand from collectors and Texans eager to own a piece of their state's history. With a mintage of 6,571 coins, this issue is significantly scarcer than many other commemoratives of the era.
This PCGS MS67 example proudly displays a well-deserved CAC sticker, confirming its quality within the grade. The coin exhibits outstanding eye appeal with original silver-white surfaces and robust cartwheel luster that dances across both sides. The strike is exceptionally sharp with full detail visible in all design elements. The surfaces are remarkably clean for the grade, showing only the most minor contact marks that barely warrant mention. A superb representative of this popular Texas commemorative.
