1938-S Texas Commemorative Half Dollar (50c)

The 1938-S Texas Independence Centennial half dollar was the final issue in the popular Texas commemorative series, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of Texas independence from Mexico. With a mintage of just 3,775 pieces, the 1938-S is among the scarcer issues in the series. These coins were originally sold in three-piece sets containing examples from Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco, making individual coins like this one somewhat less common today.
