1945-S Micro S Mercury Dime (10c)
PCGS MS66 FB
The 1945-S Mercury Dime features the scarce "Micro S" variety, where the San Francisco mintmark is noticeably smaller than the standard size used that year. This variety was created when a different punch was used to apply the mintmark, resulting in a distinctive and sought-after variant that commands a premium among Mercury Dime specialists.
This superb PCGS MS66FB example displays outstanding eye appeal with brilliant, lustrous surfaces that practically glow with mint bloom. The strike is razor-sharp, earning the coveted Full Bands designation with complete separation of the fasces bands on the reverse. The surfaces are remarkably clean for the grade, showing only the most minimal contact marks while maintaining excellent luster throughout both sides. A truly exceptional representative of this popular variety.
