1869 $1 Rainbow Legal Tender (Fr. 18)

A pleasing VF Rainbow ace with above average eye appeal for the grade. The inks remain strong - bold black detail with a vivid red overprint and bright star serials - while the paper shows even circulation with good body and minimal soiling. Centering is balanced and the margins are respectable, giving the design room to breathe. The reverse green is deep and well defined. Housed in a PMG holder that cites pinholes, yet the note presents far better than typical for a circulated example.
