1891 $1 Martha Silver Certificate (Fr. 223)

Crisp, bright paper with clearly original surfaces and strong ink contrast gives this note excellent eye appeal. The blue serials pop, the red seal is vibrant, and the intricate black work remains sharply impressed. Margins are well balanced with clean edges and no distracting stains or smudges. The faintest of tri-folds are noted, otherwise the paper stays tight and lively. The reverse presents deep, even green ink with fresh, untoned fields and strong overall registration.
