1896 $5 Educational Silver Certificate (Fr. 268)

Choice XF with notably strong eye appeal and a fun lower serial. Inks are bold throughout, with vivid blue serials and a bright red seal that pop against the well-balanced margins. Paper shows excellent body and originality, with trace embossing visible through the holder. The reverse presents deep, even green ink and clean surfaces. A couple of light vertical folds near the centerline sets the XF limit, but the presentation remains crisp and attractive and the note faces up very strongly. Secure in a clean PMG holder with no distracting comments.
