1899 $2 Mini-Porthole Silver Certificate (Fr. 256)

The blue on this Fr. 256 grabs you first - the seal, serial numbers, and oversized "2" are saturated and bright against clean white paper. PMG's EPQ notation is well earned, with fresh surfaces and no folds or handling marks. Margins are ample and nicely balanced on all four sides, and the black engraving holds sharp detail right down to the fine lathework around Washington's portrait. Flip it over and the green is deep and even, with the central panel crisp from edge to edge. A choice Teehee-Burke with plenty of pop and real eye appeal.
