1934A $500 Federal Reserve Note (Fr. 2202l)

A San Francisco high-denom mule with bright, clean paper, this Fr. 2202-L looks nearly new in hand. The black intaglio is bold and sharp from the portrait out to the corner counters, and the green seal and serial numbers pop against the white surfaces. Margins frame the design nicely on all four sides. Only the lightest handling separates this example from Uncirculated, and nothing in the photos pulls the eye away. The reverse holds rich, even green with crisp scrollwork edge to edge. Serious eye appeal on a $500 that seldom turns up this nice.
