March 25, 1776 New Jersey Colonial Twelve Shillings (12s) (Fr. NJ-179)

Fresh, original paper with crisp surfaces and excellent ink strength gives this 1776 New Jersey 12s superb eye appeal. The red and black text prints up boldly, the serial and trio of signatures are dark and fully formed, and the leaf back is sharply executed with fine detail. Generous, well balanced margins frame the note nicely, and the edges remain clean with square, unworn corners. A couple of tiny, unobtrusive toning specks are noted on the back, otherwise this example offers outstanding originality and visual pop.
